    Kegs blown up

Thought I would update, Whichwood (Marston's) got back to me and said they had a problem with the same batch fermenting in the keg, they went on to say they would send a goodwill gesture. Today they wrote again asking me to dispose of the beer and very generously saying they would send me 2...

    Stainless Steel Mini Kegs

That's great information I really want to move from my 20L PB to 4 of these, simply because I have treated myself to one of these: https://www.klarstein.co.uk/Home-appliances/Drinks-dispenser/Beer-tap-dispenser/Beerkules-Beer-Dispenser-5l-Kegs-Compressor-120W-Black.html

Though, I would update here as I contacted the company for more information on this product, this is the reply I got:

    Kegs blown up

That's great information, I had pretty much decided to buy 4 of those anyway, at the end of the day they have a years guarantee and any problems, they can have them back. They will go great with the despenser I linked to earlier, I ordered yesterday as I have Benn waiting nearly a year for a...

    Kegs blown up

I think these are live, the first one I opened a couple of weeks ago (before this happened) was very lively and kept building pressure the following day even though it was kept in the fridge. Also there was a lot of sediment in the bottom when I drew the last glass.

    Kegs blown up

It's strange as they are two different batches (although subsequent batches) as I bought them from two supermarkets, I specifically wanted 4, the first supermarket had 3 but one had already blown up (I thought it had been dropped at the time), the second supermarket had the further 2 I was...

    Kegs blown up

I was aware of that but I think they are probably drinkable, I started one last night and although it took an age to get the pressure down it was fine, I only have two unopened now. The two others I have started venting the CO2 already, it won't effect the beer as I'm only venting off CO2, as...

    Kegs blown up

I bought them over a month ago (BB Jan 2021), I'm not sure I have the receipts now but I intend to have a hunt today, I am self employed and like all good self employed I a have a great filing system of a shoe box that everything goes in (just in case) :laugh8: I have already emailed pictures...

    Kegs blown up

I meant a ss mini keg in the same format, shape & size as the disposable, so they will fit in here (this one has compressor cooling): https://www.klarstein.co.uk/Home-appliances/Drinks-dispenser/Beer-tap-dispenser/Beerkules-Beer-Dispenser-5l-Kegs-Compressor-120W-Black.html

    Kegs blown up

Yes still the Hobgoblin, I drank one, the other three have all blown up. I got one in the fridge, I'm worried it will blow the door off :laugh8: I bought them a few weeks ago and not sure I have the receipts but I have sent a complaint to Wychwood, hopefully they might do something. I am going...

    Kegs blown up

Has anyone seen anything like this? I bough 4 Hobgoblin 5L kegs, the main reason was to reuse the kegs for 20L of homebrew, the beer inside was a bonus :beer1: I went to put one in the fridge tonight and noticed they have all blown up! The kegs are useless, not sure about he beer. They were only...

First AG (Ringwood Old Thumper) - Wowzers

I have just siphoned off my first ever AG into my pressure barrel and ....... wow! The recipe (Ringwood Old Thumper - GW) OG:1056 FG:1010 ABV: 5.6 23L (90 Minute mash) 5360g Pale Malt 345g Torrified Wheat 230g Crystal Malt 35g Chocolate Malt Boil (90 Minute) 41g Challenger (start of...

How to seal fermentation barrel cap hole

This was the really simple way to go, problem solved for a couple of quid, I was overthinking it to try and make a more permanent seal but this is ideal as I can still use the PB's as FVs if needed, I guess if I over gas they will pop out if I put them this way :laugh8: (upside down when in use...

    Irish moss

Ooooops, got that wrong on my first brew, at least I know for next time.... Thanks thumb.

    Irish moss

I have a question about Irish moss if anyone can help? My recipe says to add 3g ten minutes from the end of the boil at the same time as the Golding hops. I use hop bags and added the moss to the bag, was this OK or should I have thrown it in and left it in? I took the hop bags out after I...

    Hot weather and 18oC target

Tie a towel around the FV, allowing the water to "wick up" and train a desk fan on it and it will be down to 20 or less.

    Polypin alternative

    Polypin alternative

How do you find it, any plastic taste? do you use them for long term storage? Thanks for that.
