    Refractometer

    Do any of you use a Refractometer instead of a hydrometer, i received one yesterday and it seems much easier to read than a Hydrometer. What do you all think of these devices, do you find them accurate ?

    I’m trying to fond a supplier of 1 litre PET bottles, lots of 500ml and 750ml but space is an issue so 100s of 500 is a pain and 750 seems like you’re pouring a pint and the remaining 250 would end up with large amount of sediment in small remainder of beer, typically a litre is all I drink at...

    My first pint mmmm

    Well finally I’ve tried a pint of my own home brewed beer, MJ Irish red ale, 3 weeks in the bottle, it’s still young and most will be left a bit longer. beautiful smooth taste with a slightly bitter after taste. I could certainly quaff this on a regular basis.

    Hi all i used to make kit beers many years back, in the days of Geordie and Tom Caxton kits boot in Boots, thought I’d give it another go, looks like a lot more choice now, Mangrove Jacks Irish red ale on order. Will report back on my efforts in due course.
