    Bottled my first gallon. Very please with how clear they look. 1/2 teaspoon of caster sugar in each bottle. Hope they don’t explode.

    I tried the freezing method. I have to say it definitely produces a lot more juice. You do have to wait for the apples to defrost tho before pulping.

    Thanks for all the great advice from everyone. Yes, the hydrometer I have is confusing and illegible. I’m hoping that at some point it will sink to the yellow part which says time to bottle. That’s the useful bit and easier to read.

    I tipped a bit more yeast in , probably about 4g now in total and it’s going off like a volcano. Lots of scum on the top as well.

    thanks for your interpretation of my hydrometer reading Hello and thanks for the reply . Yes there is water in the airlock. The yeast I used was Cooper and Sons champagne yeast. I think I’ll see if the hydrometer sinks lower tomorrow than the original starting gravity and put some more yeast...
