Hi all, I pressed and pitched yeast into some apple juice on the 12th September, about 26gallons in all. I used a commercial "cider yeast" sachet. Fermentation was bubbling away very well for about a week, but due to other things I let it sit there every since. It's in a plastic homebrew...

I have to agree, this is not very nice at all. The nose is great, but the flavour is so watery/thin and just generally bad. I don't dare offer this to any guests and have only reluctantly drunk it a few times myself afterwards. This will be going down the drain when I get time.

I realise it's been a long time since I started this kit but I had forgotten I hadn't left more feedback. I'm very, very disappointed with this kit. There is a huge lack of flavour, it basically tastes like someone has mixed 50ml of beer with 950ml water, it's so diluted despite brewing short...

Any more feedback on this kit? Its on my list of potential kits to try.

Hi SloeBrewer the sweetness was along the lines of any supermarket cider brand not described as dry. Such as Kopperberg apple cider.

To follow-up on my previous posts, I will be buying this kit again, whenever I next visit The Range - although that might not be for another month or two. I've since down a few more cider kits (On The Rocks Apple and Mixed Berry) and I do think this kit has a slightly stronger apple flavour but...

A little later than I expected, but I just opened my first bottle of this. Not really that impressed with it. Great nose and initial flavour, but after a mere second or two the flavour drops and leaves an aftertaste like carbonated water. It's not unpleasant I was just expecting the flavour...

I also have done the mixed berry (see the review for it). I think it's nice, but the smell is much stronger/nicer than the taste. To me the taste was pretty weak (the berry part of it that is). I would probably try it again with a juice to try and strengthen that given from the flavour sachet.

Hey Pete, As Scott says, I added the normal amount of sugar, and used plain old white sugar as I have with all my ciders and had no problems. I admit I haven't tried one of these for quite a while, so I'll have a taste early next week and post feedback, I am expecting good things.

Finally kicked this off this evening :cheers: Brewed it short to 20L, and used the recommended Cooper Brew Enhancer 2. Will let you know how I get on, but after my success with the Coopers European Lager I have very high hopes for this.

I've done skittle vodka before a few times and each time it's gone down a treat. The last time I made all 5 flavours/colours was for a house party ~3 years ago. Note there are numerous ways you can make skittle vodka - at least which colours / flavours to mix. I prefer seperating them all out...
