    Leaving in the fermenter?

This is what i do and I’ve never had any issues. I’ve actually just brewed a NEIPA that is bubbling away in the FV and that is being vented via a spunding valve that’s got the outlet plumbed into the corny keg. And why not? The gas would only get vented off i top atmosphere so may as well put...

LOVE Brewing " Limited Edition Kist" Giveaway!

If successful, I’d go for the Export Bohemian Pils as I’ve never brewed a pils before and fancy giving it as try.

    Leaving in the fermenter?

It’s probably too later for this brew as it sounds like your fermentation is almost complete. But, for future brews you can connect your spunding valve set up directly into the keg so that any vented C02 is used to purge the keg I’ve done this before without anny issues, just keep “burping” the...

Use of hops to extract specific flavours

When you say “large amounts” in the whirlpool additions in your NEIPA\s, what do you class as large? I’m working through my recipe today for a brew tomorrow (sunday). It’s a first for me as i normally buy all grain kits with the recipe already worked out by someone else, but for this one (Neipa...

    STC-3008 advice needed pls

Fully understand and tbh i didn’t buy the controller for this sort of application, i bought it to control my boiler which has the old style control knob and doesn’t hold the boil very well but this STC does. I might just invest in an inkbird.

    STC-3008 advice needed pls

That would work i suppose, it would certainly fit as the wires are tiny.

    STC-3008 advice needed pls

It’s not that you haven’t read it correctly, more that i haven’t explained it very well. But here goes: The STC has 2 sensors and 2 outputs (switches) one for heat and one for cold. Obviously the fridge would be plugged into the cold side switch and the tube heater into the other and all that...

    STC-3008 advice needed pls

Hi all, I’m in the process of setting up a fermentation chamber using a tall fridge that we recently replaced in the kitchen. This now proudly sits in my man cave come brewing room where it houses a Fermzilla gen3. I have an STC-3008 to control the temperature and also a tube heater for the...

    NEIPA - naked oats?

I’m curious BB, how did it turn out? I’m planning a NEIPA myself next weekend.

Almost finished! - Citra Smash started at 0430am

Brilliant and thanks. I actually have some of those grains (extra light & wheat malts) so may just buy something like a caramel or a Maris otter to make up the grain bill. I normally do a 30 litre batch and hope to end up filling a 19ltr corny so will adapt your recipe accordingly mate. I’ve got...

Almost finished! - Citra Smash started at 0430am

Share your NEIPA recipe pls? I have a boat load of hops, Cascade, Citra, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvignon, plus some grains left over from a previous brew so i will almost definitely need to buy more grains. But, based on if you share will determine what grains i buy.

    All Rounder Foam

By opening the PRV you instantly start the flow

    All Rounder Foam

I have a very similar set up to yours except my FV is the gen3 fermzilla with the trub/yeast collection jar on the bottom, but essentially the same as in the way they work. I always have equal pressure in both keg and FV, then start the flow by releasing pressure from the keg by burping the PRV...

    Newbie to Kegging questions

I like to condition my brews in the keg, so i don’t see the need to force carb. I brew IPA’a and always close transfer into the keg from the FV. I then open the gas and pressure to 11psi and just leave it till the beer is all drank and I’ve never had an issue. I realise that this method probably...

    House water supply

I’ve now built a few houses, 7 to be exact and in all my time I’ve never known a water supply from another house to enter another property (apart from flats) The water company installs the mains water supply which usually terminates on your front path, or maybe somewhere in your front garden...

    Homebrew recommendations

Muntons have a good range of extract kits, the citrusy one is pretty good, can’t remember the name of the top of my head but check out YouTube, Partridge Brothers, they’ve reviewed most of the extract kits on the market right now.

    House water supply

To be honest mate, the solicitor who was acting on your behalf when you purchased the house should have picked up on this anomaly and seeing as how they didn't, they have a responsibility to you and as such should bear the costs. They were acting on your behalf so have a duty of care to you...
