    bottle priming

    hi peeps just a quick question , im just about to bottle a geordie lager kit and was wondering whats the best way to prime the bottles , the last 2 times ive done this i put the sugar in the bottles first but was wondering if it would dissolve better if the beer was in first ?

    ive had this in fv for just over 2 weeks now , its had same hydrometer reading since monday so its done , im going to bottle it saturday but ive forgotten how much sugar i should prime bottles with they are 500ml bottles , im pretty sure it is half a tsp for ale and a whole tsp for lager is this...

    what is better ?

    i have a lager brewing which should be ready the weekend after next now ive read the instructions about adding sugar when bottling but is it better to store it in a preesure barrel or put it in bottles ? how long would it last in a barrel ? as this seems the easist option as i can drink it...

    Im going to start another 1 gallon cider tonight using youngs cider yeast i was wondering if i could add some undiluted apple and blackcurrant squash to the apple juice is this ok to do so i was thinking of adding about 250-300ml ?

    HOW DO I ?

    Ive just started brewing my first batch of geordie lager and was wondering how do test with a hydrometer when its ready do i syphon abit out to fill my hydrometer test tube or do i do it in the fermenting bucket , as each time i open the lid air is getting in and wont that ruin the brew ?

    5g youngs cider yeast

    i made up 1 gallon using this yeast but for some reason it turned out with a very heavy sediment in the fermenting bottle , i cooled it down to stop fermentation and then bottled it the trouble is sediment has formed in the bottles and its impossible to pour and drink without moving the sediment...
