Good points. I'll maybe persevere and use up some cheap kits in the kegs and bottle the good stuff. Hopefully I'll get the knack, though I've already done two batches in kegs and not got a proper pint poured yet. Cheers.

Does anybody have problems pouring a decent pint from these kegs? I'm priming using about 65g sugar for a 20l batch, and when bottled it's coming out lovely, but when I try and pour a pint from the tap, it either gushes out at a million miles an hour, creating a pint of froth, or if I only open...

Kits mostly sold out online, but I've just managed to get instore, in varying quantities : Wherry £9, all Wilko beer kits £5, Spray Malt £3 /kg , Coopers Kits £6.50, Brewing sugar £1 /kg, Bottle tops 1p each, etc Couldn't see this posted elsewhere on here, so my advice is get up there...

Just done hydrometer test and has settled at 1006, which is as it should be. Will wait another day or two as there's still a bit of activity. Observations: It's very thin, little colour, not much of a smell and not really that much taste either. Disappointing. No foam on top in the FV at all...

Just started one of these today. No frills, just did what the kit recommended. Will update as and when.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Just thought I'd let you know I'm three days into the first fermenting of a Wherry kit. I'm quite low temperature-wise though and the ambient temp is averaging about 17degC. I've sent off for an aquarium heater to liven things up a bit, but hope the ferment...
