hi tubby,i am going to make this recipe this wknd but me local brew shop only had 1.5kg of light spray malt(which i bought)so i also bought 1kg of dark spray malt will this make much difference to the brew?

Wondering if anyone can help me, i just finished my first brewday (sierra nevada clone extract which i found on this forum) and afterwards realized i had put in too much crystal malt (500g instead of 250g) will this effect the taste? i know its made the beer much darker but im not too bothered...

is there any chance the fermentig bin would melt near where the elements are installed, its just that my fermenting bins look to be made of quite thin plastic (ones a youngs the other ones a ritchies)

Going to start my first brew as soon as my hops come home but i havent been able to buy a boiler as yet so i was going to just use a big pot but ill be using an electric hob in the kitchen, will i be able to control the temp as good as a gas hob?
