Carbonating beer using bike co2 pump

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but the bottles would have to be very cold and you'd have to be very careful not to over pressurise. You'll probably still get a little bit of something settling out though, unless you start filtering your beer.

    Force carbonating with 60/40 gas?

Fobbing is the excessive amount of foam you get when pouring beer from an unbalanced system (or when you pour Tennants, which seems to be the most inconsistently gassed beer going). On another note, all the pubs I've worked in have used pure CO2 for lager and cider, though they have always had...

    Force carbonating with 60/40 gas?

I should say 35 psi would only apply to mixed gas as you are in reality you are getting a much lower partial pressure from the CO2. If using pure CO2 you may want to use one of the online calculators to figure out the pressure you want, usually it's about 9-15psi though and you can just trial...

    Force carbonating with 60/40 gas?

I think you should be fine force carbing with the 60/40, in such high CO2 mixed gasses the nitrogen will not dissolve and is mainly there to give a stable pour in places where you cannot guarantee a stable keg temperature. If you have a very stable temperature for your kegs I would advise moving...

HERMS-RIMS kitchen setup not static help

In terms of filtering, I don't think I can help. I've always just used what comes out of my tap and then added whatever treatments are required for the style I'm after. For portability I'd be tempted to mount it on a steel caterers trolley, that way you can just wheel the whole lot through the...

    What pump?

I think I'll start with the solar pump seeing as they're so cheap, then if I require something more powerful I'll upgrade. I have plenty of other uses for it if I do need something bigger. Thanks, KOzric

    What pump?

finally got most of the bits together to start my build, but I'm not really sure what kind of pump I should use for wort circulation. I was looking at these http://www.pumpsukltd.com/pump-type/cir ... eries.html but I'm not really sure. Thanks, KOzric

    mini keg(5L) cooling?

Thank you! I've been looking for exactly this kind of thing to wrap around my corny to make it portable  just need a camping mat to wrap around the ice blanket now. 8-)

Beer line diameter and length corny kegs

http://www.iancrockett.com/brewing/info ... ance.shtml This has loads of great information about setting up your beer lines. Standard beer line I think is 3/8 (9.5mm with a 6.7mm ID) but I think the general rule for the home is the shorter the beer line the thinner the tubing and vice versa. KOzric

    Corny out pipe

It says for use with the in disconnect, but I take it it will work fine on the out disconnect too? KOzric

    Corny out pipe

I just picked up a good length of 6.7mm beer line for free from my local, but I'm not sure which john guest fitting I'd use to attach it to my corny disconnect? This one maybe? http://www.ro-man.com/shop/index.php?ro ... ct_id=2101 Would it be easier just to use a barb fitting and a jubilee...

Too Lazy to build a PID

I did have a look at the Cedaronics webpage but he only seems to have heat trace cable for sale at the moment. I'm not really in a rush so I'll see what's available in september when I plan to finish of my build. KOzric

Too Lazy to build a PID

Title says it all really, I want a PID to control the temperature on the RIMS system I'm building. Everything else I'm doing myself, but I'd prefer to have all the electronics done for me. I was wondering if these would do the trick: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermostat-Te ... 20d0eba28b KOzric

    Building my all-in-one brewery

From what I've heard they are coated in ceramic, which is fine if you're only boiling water. I'm not sure how it would stand up to sticky wort, or being submerged in VWP on a regular basis. I guess I'll just have to experiment. I was also thinking of using a nylon membrane as a filter, I have...

    Building my all-in-one brewery

The initial drawing of what I intend, not as detailed as it should be and missing the wiring and immersion coil. I just wanted a rough drawing to base my plans on, all the wiring will be done by my friendly electrician anyway. http://ozricbrewing.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/brewfront.jpg...

    Building my all-in-one brewery

On a passing note, if anyone has any of these supplies they've got lying around and are wanting to get rid of. I'm happy to buy. My budget for this is quite tight so every penny squeezed helps. KOzric

    Building my all-in-one brewery

The rough sketches are part of what I want to do over christmas, whilst I've got some extra spare time. If I plan well enough I'm hoping it'll be a quickish build and I can start AG brewing again in febuary. The extract stuff just isn't the same in my little stock pot.

    Building my all-in-one brewery

The time has come to start the intricate planning of my all-in-one brewery. Background first: I have decided on an all-in-one brewery style, mainly due to the limited amount of space in my flat, I have just one room to dedicate to all of my belongings, not just my brewing gear. This route will...
