Hey guys, I've just bought 100g of both citra and centennial hop pellets to drop in an ipa kit ive got fermenting. When it's done fermenting I was thinking of putting 50g of each in. Would that be too much? I love really hoppy ales but it's my 1st time using hops so really don't know how...

I cracked a bottle of this last night and to say its only been bottled for two weeks I was pretty impressed and so was the missus! Couple more weeks and this should be bang on! I used 500g light spraymalt and the free brewing sugar :cheers:

I've not tasted anything brewed in anyway or form that compares to the blue monkey brewery's ales. They are heaven in a bottle! I also love jaipur but even that doesn't compare to blue monkey big blue! :drink:

Not even been in the fermenter a week yet and its already down to 1.010 on hydrometer. Is a ferment this fast normal?

What does yeast taste like? I'm no beer tasting expert, I like what I like and this ipa is now starting to taste really good especially as a week and a half ago it was pretty tasteless,it's still got a marzipan type after taste which I don't mind at all but is this normal for this kit? Ive only...

Just put this kit in the fermenter, done it to 21l with 900g dextrose and 500g light spraymalt, OG was 1.044 so hopefully get around 4.7% abv if it ferments to 1.008 like the instructions say. Was going to do the coopers cerveza but got all the ingredients for £14 so thought sod it I'll give it...

Just had a little sample of mine after a week at room temperature and a day in the cold and couldn't really taste much other than a marzipan type aftertaste

After wasting 3 bulbs I have now discovered the problem. The bulb holder isn't compatible with the valve, even when it was at it's tightest the bulb was loose! I have cut the bulb holder down and its worked just hope my beer is ok after the glugging :?

If you mean the rubber that covers the two holes of the valve then yes they are in place.i'm starting to wonder if its the wrong valve?
