Hi I'm a malt extract brewer, I'm trying to substitute dark malt extract (syrip) for pale malt extract (syrip) + assorted malt. I'm trying to replace Brewpacks dark malt extract, I'm guessing the malt required would include crystal , black and chocolate , but in what quantities? All suggestions...

Thanks everyone for the help. I managed to resolve the issue using campden tablets, then rinsing with lemon juice and repeating a few times. Theres no way I'm taking VWP anywhere near those barrels again after this fuss. I might invest in a no rinse cleaner. Anyway, thanks. :D
