Brewing giant Heineken will reopen 62 pubs that were closed in recent years and invest £39m in refurbishing hundreds of sites across the UK.

Great news but with pubs still closing daily how do they expect to make a profit. The company said the cash injection into its Star Pubs & Bars chain will create more than 1,000 new jobs. The UK pubs industry has been hard hit by closures both during the Covid pandemic and afterwards as...

I wonder how many times he has said DOH. Yousaf admitted that he had "clearly underestimated" the hurt he had caused the Greens by ending the agreement in the manner that he did. Humza Yousaf is to stand down Scotland's first minister once a successor is found. He said he had made the...

Challenges facing the UK cider industry

The UK's largest cider maker has chopped down a huge orchard, sparking fears for wildlife as it is a natural bird habitat. Heineken, which owns Bulmers cider, has levelled the orchard - the size of 140 football pitches - on the Offa's Dyke path in Monmouthshire. It wants to sell the land and...

All over 5 live today. How did a £200 limit before you are prosecuted ever become a thing, shop keepers are phoning in saying thieves are walking into shops filling holdalls and walking out knowing nothing will be done. One small shop owner with 16 local staff lost £26,000 last year, this...
