    I tend to use dark bottles for reds, I know you should keep them out of direct sunlight while fermenting so makes sense to do so in the bottle too. How is your Sloe Wine and did it take long to clear? Mine is quite sour although I've back sweetened it and not tasted it since, it's taking...

    I just used the cheapest I could find. I think you need to steer clear of preservatives.

    A friend of mine offered me a bottle of wine he made in 1982 today. It was his only bottle do I didn't accept it but am hoping to try if with him on his birthday. Is it likely to be drinkable?

    I mashed mine up as best I could (which wasn't very much) and bunged it all in the FV. I'm planning on just leaving it until I rack it once it's finished fermeting and then topping up with WGJ or water. I have no idea if that's a good thing to do or not though, fingers crossed. :wha:
