    Christmas brews

Hi all. After moving house a month ago, I've finally goy round to getting a brew on. Muntons Winter Warmer for £21.50. It's been in the FV an hour now and I wondered if anyone had any advise or things to watch out for. Also I'm interested in sugar amounts for batch priming. Cheers in advance.

    Festival Pride of London

Yes my plan is to keep the majority of it for ch*****as. I reckon it'll taste a lot better on a cold night in front of the log burner! Have patience my friend. :nono:

    Festival Pride of London

2nd bottle quaffed with the help of a fellow Brewer tonight. Definitely improved as expected. Can't wait for the next try in September.

    Festival Pride of London

Just had the first try. 26 days in the bottle and it's ok. Hopefully the flavour will get better. I'll try and wait another month before I try another.

Right! Hops gone in tonight (10 days in). What's the general consensus on how long till bottling and what/how much to batch prime with? Cheers.

    Festival Pride of London

Many thanks for your input. I'll leave it until 10 days and then add the hops. Had a look at the wort this morning and it has been active. Temperature has been between 23 and 25 so I'm hoping that's not to hot. As far as the "hoppiness" goes............I don't want it to hoppy!!

    Festival Pride of London

Day 10! Wow. Is that what you recommend me to do? Don't know if it makes a difference, but the part of the garage I've got the FV in is not short on temperature.

I've just put my POL porter on in the hope of it being a splendid drink for ch*****as ( I can't type the full word, I might burn!). Just wondered if anyone has suffered any problems or has any advice. Hops going in in 5 days as instructions. Cheers in advance.

    Young's American Mocha Porter

I have brewed Coopers Stout with treacle about 5 times over my 2 years as a home Brewer, and I can recommend it highly. The one I have bottled at the moment is the best I've ever done. Primed it with 50g of brewing sugar. Enjoy.:thumb:

    Woodfordes Headcracker

Did this brew the other week. After 20 days in the FV, I bottled it. Just put them in the shed today (2 weeks after bottling) apart from the 3 pints I had to put in a Greenalls take home jug. Why a jug? I ran out of bottle tops!! I am thinking of trying this tonight while i watch the Aussies and...

    Coopers, Canadian Blonde Review

The beer is very clear after 12 days in the bottle and there is a bit of sediment when disturbed. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then try it.

    Coopers, Canadian Blonde Review

Just bottled it! 90g of brewing sugar used to batch prime. Didn't go down the strawberry/grape juice/tea bag road after all. Cheers.
