    Munton's Premium Cellar Shiraz

I thought it came with no extra grape juice or sugar needed? I got one and inside was a gallon container of concentrated grape juice. Wouldn't have thought you would need more.

    Brewing History

As far as I recall, for the yeast, wild strains were utilised. I believe wooden vessels were used for fermentation and as for the sugar, it was the mashing of grains. I believe everybody was AG in those days. :)

OMG - how bad is that let there be beer advert

For me, I can't say I enjoy John Smiths, Boddingtons, Tetley, Worthingtons, etc. because I have only ever seen it on th.at bloody cream-flow. That, to me, really ruins the beer. The only time I have seen one of them on engine is a Tetleys in Scarborough, which tasted fine. Not great but...

Police killer Cregan in 'hunger strike' protest

Agree with the idea that once you go into the clink, you should lose all your rights. Personally I think they should move him. Send him down to HMP Dover maybe. Serve him right for having the cheek to try and pick his prison.

    Coopers Original Stout Review

I'm fermenting at ~22C with the aid of a fishtank heater. The Spew was amazing! You could literally hear it pushing through the hole in the lid. My kit was the following: Coopers Original Stout 1kg Dark DME Approx 1 cup of brown sugar (variety uncertain). I'm looking for a session beer so I...

Flying Dog - Gonzo Imperial Porter

Hey everybody, Just cracked open a bottle of Flying Dog's Gonzo Imperial Porter. Some people stateside might recognise the glass. ;) It's a beautiful black with a slight wine taste to it, followed by coffee. Then the coffee trails off to leave the wine taste tingling at the edges of your...

    Rehydrating Coopers yeast

On my Coopers I just pitched in straight away and I'm keeping the temp around 22C with a fishtank heater in the FV. I don't think the yeast is really made for rehydrating. :)

Kit for an Imperial Russian stout?

Hi Antony, My suggestion would be a Coopers Stout (Original, not Irish) and use 2kg Dark DME/1kg Dark DME & 1kg Beer Kit Enhancer. Brew this to three gallons rather than 5. Should be a dark colour and the right kind of percentage. Coopers + 1kg DME comes out at ~7% when brewed to three...
