    Well I've brewed the bolt maker, Went well -OG 1037 (1038 in book) That was yesterday, an it's fermenting well so hopefully it will be a decent beer.

    It's your first brew so I guess you can be forgiven for treating the beer like a sleeping baby! Add yeast, leave 5/7 days an that's it, less risk of contaminants.

    False bottom in boiler question

    I add my hops to the wort loose in the boiler, when it's cooked I usually just pour the lot through a sieve. My friend is an engineer and can make anything I come up with! I'm thinking of sitting a perforated false bottom that sits just above the tap hole, then I can just pour the wort...

    Bit off subject, but I see you have made a clone tt landlord, This is my next brew, Not got the exact quantities in front of me, but it's Pale malt Black malt Goldings & Styrian golding hops. This sound like your recipe ? Cheers Phil.

    Temperature of ale

    Hi, I only barrel my beer as I don't like the hassle of bottling. This means I only tend to brew sep-may as my beer stays around 12c when under the stairs. My question is, if I brew a beer something like a 1050-1060 og And it's left in the barrel touching temps of 18-20c will it last...

    Hello from colne Lancashire

    Brewed extract kits when I was 18, all turned out pretty horrid especially the coopers lager, I thought it would be a great idea to double the instructed sugar amount! Sure to say me an my mates drank it anyway! My dad brewed all grain for a good few years, mostly darker bitters, at the time...
