    Wilko Strawberry wine

I just threw a teaspoon of pectolase in, gave it a damn good shake and left it in the garage for a month. It was clear as a bell after this and the pectolase fell to the bottom of the dj with a load of black gummy bits

    Wilko Strawberry wine

Maybe try a small amount of pectic enzyme and see if that helps. I seem to recall that's how I resolved the issue in the same kit

Just put one of these on made with 500 g medium sme and 500 g brewers dextrose. Made it up to 20 litres with an og of 1.048 so hoping it'll be around 4.5% when it's done. Bargain at 8.00 in the sale!!

    youngs harvest bitter

Bottled it up today using half teaspoon sugar per 500 ml bottle. Had a cheeky little taste and by crikey it tastes good. Kind of reminiscent of hobgoblin maybe? Just got to try and keep my paws off it now

    youngs harvest bitter

Well its certainly bubbling away like crazy - going to try leaving it longer than normal to fully ferment and condition.

    youngs harvest bitter

First batch made up to 10 litres with an og of 1.052. Will let you know how it goes. Ended up throwing a random 100 grammes of dextrose in just because it was laying at the back of the cupboard. What's everyone's thoughts on hopping it?

    youngs harvest bitter

Hmm I think my mind is set. Do one to 10 litres and maybe do the other with dark dme as an experiment? This home brew is far too addictive!!

    youngs harvest bitter

Hi all, I've got 2 x 1.8 kg youngs harvest bitter and was wondering if I'm better putting both tins in and making up to 23 litres or brewing them separately with dextrose? They only cost 2.75 each so am tempted to lob them in together and see what happens. Would it still need sugar too? Kegged...

Tesco's direct - Youngs Harvest Bitter

I've just ordered 2 bitter kits and a strawberry wine kit for delivery to local store - grand total of 7.71 spent. Any thoughts on improving the bitter kits? Was thinking of dry hopping or using honey in place of some / all of the sugar

    New to this game

Hi all, just thought I would join up and say hi as I've been on the forum quite a lot recently looking for some direction. I'm new to the home brew game having brewed Woodfordes wherry months ago and was surprised what a palatable pint it was. I've just put a golden stag on and am looking...
