Give it time. When I made this, it was very harsh in the early days. I kept a few bottles for about 1 year and cracked them open with friends. It was outstanding.

Small update: I realised the volume of water going out into the garden was way too high, so I thought I'd place the output hose into the water downpipe on top of the garage. Couldn't believe it actually worked. Serious water pressure to carry it up there.

My wife just bought me one and I did my first all grain brew. It's spot on. No probs other than not getting a rolling boil. But I think I can perfect that next time around by keeping temp at 110.

I get my co2 from local gas company. About £75 for tank and £25 per refill. 6.35 kg. Lasts ages. For bbq you can get ice bags that fill with water & freeze then strap them onto corny. Party taps are good. I've bought cheap ones but having seen ones with very flex hose wish I'd bought...

Thanks. All other parts ordered from Malt Miller. Even bought myself an extra tap. CO2 picked up yesterday from Russell Gas in Edinburgh. Looks like I'll be ready to do my first keg in a few days.. yeeha.

OK. Got a regulator from ebay. The gas pipeline that came with it is for a mig welder I guess. Any idea where I can get the right pipeline to connected onto my grey gas connector that came with the corny?

Sounds interesting. I would expect the outcome to be very malty, and noticeably thicker.
