Can I ask if its worth it adding Dark DME to a Coopers Irish Stout Kit and if so how much? For example Would 250g be enough to make a difference to taste, body, abv and head retention?
Look forward to replies.

Yes is the short answer. Coopers have recipes to beef up their kits. however id put the full 500g in. DWE will help with head retention but not colour as its wheat. I pretty much always add 500g of DWE to my beers apart from the uber pale ones.

Originally I was meaning would it be OK to add 250g of DME as well as 1kg Brewing Sugar?Would this work or were you meaning 500g DME instead of using Brewing Sugar?

So for example which of the following would work best Any any idea of approx abv of each?

A. 1x 1.7kg coopers irish stout + 1kg brew Sugar + 250g DME.
B. 1x 1.7kg coopers irish stout + 1kg brew sugar + 500g DME.
C. 1x 1.7kg coopers irish stout + 500g brew
sugar + 500g DME.
