If using fresh ingredients or by kit, how do you work out the apprx strength of the beer or wine?

You need a hydrometer, take a reading at the beginning and another at the end then click on “calculators” at the top left and there's one for working out abv.

Do you know whether it uses 7.36, 7.46 or other?

I don't think it's a fixed number :thumb: - so better than the finger in the air 7.38 that I use
