Got this on today. I also call it Condor Pale Ale (my own name), as the first attempt although superb, wasn't like Bathams Best Bitter.

5.2kg Pale Malt
24g Fuggles 90min
18g Northdown 90min
10g EKG flameout

1tsp Irish moss 10min

Was hoping to use WY1968 and given that my BHE seems to have settled at 65%, Beersmith reckon this at 23 litres would give OG1.042 and 4.3%.

However, as always, things went a little awry...

Firstly I couldn't wake the 1968 up. It's been at the back of the fridge for about 4 months, and I only made the starter yesterday. No activity at pitching time.

Fortunately I had my wye valley yeast in the fridge and this was raring to go after an hour.

Secondly my BHE was 70% today. The WV yeast is fairly high attenuating so it was coming out at 1.050 and 5.13%.

Anyway diluted down to 1.042. Yeast pitched.

Time will tell! This is my 13th AG brew and the other 12 were all good...
