Going to do my first lager this weekend but need some advice from some of you guys that's had experience with Saflager s-23.

What size starter will I need?
What temp should the starter be kept for 24hours?
When ready to pitch what temp should the wort be?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

No starter needed, but doing one won't hurt
I do my lager starters at the temp I plan to ferment at, but no need if no starter.
I pitch it to my Wort at the temp I'm fermenting at, so 9-12c.

Thanks for the replies, but would i be able to pitch at 20c and then cool to 12c without any bad flavors etc?

Its all new to me as ive just recently set up the fermentation fridge

It should be ok. It may produce a slightly fruitier lager as it starts at 20c, but no off flavours
