    SMaSH #2 NZ Pacifica

just brewed up my second 'single malt and single hop', using NZ Pacifica. Oddly, using the same grain bill, and the same mash, as SMaSH#1, the OG of this one is much higher. Must have had a bit of a poorly mashed grist last time or something :-? Grain Bill: 5kg maris otter Mash 66degrees...

    SMaSH No.1

I thought I'd start experimenting with a few SMaSH [single malt and single hop] brews, to examine the differences between hops. Help - hopping at turn off ??

hi all, I am fairly new to AG brewing, and I notice that some recipes call for an addition of hops 'at turn off'. Now, obviously this means at the end of the boil, but what do I add them to? The boil kettle? (Which would mean they are in the wort for a minute at most, before I drain into...

    Growing Hops

hi all, I just posted to the 'Introduce yourself' threads and BruinTuns said that only a few people have posted before about growing hops. So, some of you might be interested: Today I planted out 4 hop plants, 2x nugget & 2x Prima Donna, that I bought from these guys...

hi all, just found this forum & I am really looking forward to learning from you all. I have been brewing since April '14. I started brewing from kit (x2) then extract (maybe 6 brews?) and then bought a boiler & have gone all grain. I am currently considering going up another level &...
