    I've done the same before, the only down side was you'll likely end up needing to wait longer for the brew to clear, but it didnt negatively impact my brew when I did it... you should be okay :) As for the froth, did you stirr the brew when you added them? Could it have been that?

    Just took a reading.. OG was 1062 SG today was 1022 So that makes it about 5.2% I think? Seems it has been very busy... I'll give it a couple of weeks and see how its going. Thanks all :)

    Thanks, I was thinking this myself.. I'll check the SG tonight and see where we stand, if it hasnt moved much I might buy a liquid yeast and add it in to kick start it.

    Hiya, I'd seen it mentioned somewhere that you can buy kits to recycle those 5l kegs of hobgoblin and other beers you find in asda/tesco. Does anyone know what these kits are called? Had a look on eBay but they all include the keg... albeit at a reasonable price. -Link

    I kinda made a similar mistake and at the end of a brew added a load of campden tablets to my beer - it didnt turn out well.     Thanks both, I have a pressure barrel, I'll transfer it after the dry hopping is complete (probably tomorrow) and prime it then let it sit for a few weeks before sampling. I assume priming it will still work as i'm seeing the CO2 continue to rise now.. hopefully it only stunned the yeast :D
