    Feather plucking

I usualy skin. Haven't got the knack of plucking them yet and I usually tear most of the skin off. If you're planning on roasting them, cover them up with something. I wrap mine in bacon. They can get REALLY dry otherwise. Enjoy!! -Paul

    nano brewery equipment

Take a look at youtube, i think it's in 4 parts total. The setup is fitted with a manual grain pump which pumps it from the bottom of the vessel back into the top. You put a bag in and collect it then sparge it. Looks like hard work but the maker assures me he could supply with an air driven...

    EDME Stout- Smell

I put one of these kits on yesterday, first time i've done one and the smell you describe sounds how mine smelled. 24 hours later, it still smells but not as bad. Hope you left plenty of head room, mine is almost climbing out of the 5 gal fv  Did you do the 40 pint version? -Paul

    EDME Irish Stout

I did the 40 pint with 1kg of sugar. Hope it's not too bitter but I'm sure if left for a good few months it will improve. Would anyone recomend adding a tanin? I know it's black and i would probably have trouble telling if it was clear or not I would like to make every effort to improve it as...

Selling Homebrew at a Farmers Market

Thats a shame there doesn't seem to be any way around it. For anyone wanting to take a step up into nano/mcro brewery it could be a good way to 'test the water' so to speak. -Paul

    EDME Irish Stout

Got this for crimbo, decided to brew the stout straight away. Soaked the tin in warm water to help thin out the contents then added sugar, tin contents, boiling water into fermenter. Gave it a good stir and topped up with cold water. It's just waiting to come up to temp again so I can pitch...

    Couple of questions on fermenting

Not too important. Don't worry too much about it. unless you want to know the finisghed ABV you don;t need to take a start reading. If you decide you want to know the abv on your next brew then take a temp reading and a hydrometer reading. Hydrometers are caliberated to a certain temprature...
