    Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire Home Brew Club

I'm thinking about trying to arrange something monthly-ish an was wondering if anyone would be interested? There was a meeting every 2 months at the talbot tap house in Ripley but for various reasons this has died off. It will probably start off fairly informal (bring a bottle of your most...

To fine or not to fine?

I forgot to add, there is also a challenger hop teabag in the secondary fermenter as the sample from the trial jar seemed a little plain, according o my hydrometer readings the brew is currently around 5.3% abv.

To fine or not to fine?

Hi all, I have currently got my fourth and fifth kit brews in secondary fermentation (edme superbrew bitter and ontherocks blueberry cider), they were in primary for two weeks previously. After leaving my previous brews in the fermenter for 10 days each I found they still had a very bitter...

Ritchies On The Rocks, Blueberry Review

Just transferred this kit into a secondary fv with the flavour pouch after 2 weeks, will give it another week before priming and bottling. Used 1.3Kg of brewing sugar as directed and it is now exactly 5.9%, SWMBO tried the bit out of the trial jar and it had her approval :thumb:

    EDME Bitter Review

so this has had 2 weeks in primary fv, the sample from the trial jar tasted a bit weak but the abv is up at 5.3%. I have now transferred to a secondary FV and added a challenger hop teabag as my first attempt at dry hopping so will be interesting to see what its like when I transfer to a...

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

Is it true that the wilko kits are made by muntons? my local wilko's didnt have their own brand cerveza so ended up springing £13 for the muntons. I used 1kg of brewing sugar and just under half a kilo of beer kit enhancer brewed to just under 22l. It is now bubbling away nicely in my cupboard...

    Muntons Mexican Cerveza

Just got my mexican cerveza going using 1kg of brewing sugar and just under half a kilo of beer enhancer, just under 22l with a SG of 1.041, read good things about the wilko mexican cerveza on the beer kit reviews section and figured that theyre supposedly made by muntons anyway
