    King Keg Trauma

Contacted the manufacturer who got back to me within a day or so (10/10). I sent some pictures through of the split and the cap and the guy I sent them to said if they spilt as a result of the process it will be along the seam. Mine was definitely not along the seam so it was caused by over...

    King Keg Trauma

Just dropped them a note so hopefully they will be willing to stand by their products. I've got two of these and they are only about two years old, the other one is fine. I don't want to have to fork out for another one if this is going to happen again.

    King Keg Trauma

I've just noticed a pool of dark mild around the King Keg. Tap checked and not leaking :hmm: Transfer beer into trusty corny and inspection reveals a three and a half inch crack at the base of the King Keg. Its deep enough to get a thumb nail in it. Are we declaring the King is dead? I have...

    New ss fittings

My shiny new fittings arrived so I decided to fit one to the boiler. I previously used a brass bulkhead fitting through the original Birco tap hole. Apart from taking forever to fettle to the point of no leaking it never really cut the mustard. So I bought a couple of the ss fittings from...

    Stockpot question

I'm about to upgrade the Burco boiler to a shiny stockpot but I've been reading about the wall thickness on some of them being a bit thin. When I fitted the ball valve to the Burco I noticed the wall flexing as I use the valve but so far no problems and no leaks. Has anyone any idea on what a...

    A quickie

Thanks for that and thinking about it I did try to make one out of the missus's steel trays but by the time I'd got half way through drilling the holes I'd lost the will to live and the tray is still a sore point ;) I did email the site sponsor to see when they would have the 30cm ones back in...

    Inexpensive way to aerate wort

Won't the drop of the wort from the copper into the FV help aerate? I always seem to end up with a load of froth in my fv after the transfer and so far  everything seems to work out ok. That being said I'm always interested in improving my beer so would the simple air pump idea do it? I...

    Modifying boiler thermostat

I did this with a Burco 30 ltr boiler and I'm sure I found the method on here. I can't see a problem with doing it from the point of view of the piece of kit you have. As long as you have wort in the boiler and the elements are covered it should just boil. make sure you have a fuse in the plug...
