I was going to purchase one of these, either from Tesco if I go or Amazon, same price. Are the bungs on these reusable, or do you need to be a new one. Cheers.

They're reusable. The red, plastic twisty bit in the bung is in two parts. when you've drunk the beer, lever out the top part of the red plastic assembly and push the lower part into the tin. Carefully pull out the rubber insert without damaging or distorting the hole in which it sits. Recover the bottom red part from the can and reassemble.

Has anybody used the party deluxe tap with the ghost ship or the like straight from the supermarket? bought a Ghost ship keg and it was flat by the next day, anyone else had this.
Hi David, yes I tried this yesterday and the party deluxe tap fits perfectly, just pull the red tap off and the rest is the same as with the grey bungs.

Ok thanks, was asking as the last one I bought was an old speckled hen, had to break the bung to get it off, keg itself is reusable, but these ones sound alot easier.

Couple of questions about these...

- to vent or not to vent? The Hobgoblin and Speckled I have had of these, both say to open the vent on top when you pour. I'd have thought that would let air in straight away and also lose your pressure leading to getting flat and/or spoilt beer quicker. OTOH I tried leaving the top unvented and got a glass full of froth for the first half of the cask. What is your experience/opinion guys?

- When re-using the cask for your own brew, with just the original bung or a replacement as above, how long does the brew last? i.e., how fast do you have to drink it? :-)

My experience is that when new you have to drink in a couple or three days. I've recycled one by removing the cap , filling and priming and fitting a new cap. Once primed I haven't had to vent.

I vent the Adnams and close when poured, next time I use my party star deluxe(in the same bung, just need to take the tap off) and sort of force carb as much as I can and it stays ok for a tad longer than 3 days.
