Ok so I've been reading around and couldn't find a definitive recipe for a beer similar to Gingerbeard so I'm going with this to see what happens.

Captain Carrot Ginger Ale

Original Gravity (OG): 1.045 (°P): 11.2
Final Gravity (FG): 1.011 (°P): 2.8
Alcohol (ABV): 4.42 %
Colour (SRM): 7.3 (EBC): 14.4
Bitterness (IBU): 29.0 (Average)

97.56% Maris Otter Malt 4kg
2.44% Crystal 120 100g

1.7 g/L Fuggles (5.7% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) 40g
0.4 g/L Fuggles (5.7% Alpha) @ 20 Minutes (Boil) 10g

13.0 g/L Ginger Root @ 10 Minutes (Boil) 300g
0.7 g/L ginger powder @ 0 Minutes (Boil) 15g

Single step Infusion at 68°C all day whilst I'm at work! Boil for 90 Minutes

Fermented at 18°C with Danstar Nottingham

Sounds interesting! I've had a few ginger flavoured beers before some were lovely and some not so. Hopefully yours turns out a good one!

For my palate it was the ones with a hint of ginger that were to good ones.
 
I like spicy Stuff mostly Thai, Mexican and Caribbean (don't like Indian food and don't get why it feels like a social disability!) so I want something with zing, during the week I stick to ginger beer rather than have alcohol
