I'm using a general water profile with this a pale ale profile would be more usual but I want the malt to come through a little more than normal.

This was also the first brewday where I tried out my new pond pump to feed the IC (in prep for the hosepipe ban). I didn't pre-chill the water much this time but the pump got me down to pitching temperature in good time. I think if I pre-cool it properly next time then it will be under 20 mins. Much less waste of water too :)

I ended up with a 20ltr batch instead of 19 but the OG is spot on for the longer brew length so I'm fairly happy with that.

The colour looks good and the wort smells and tastes good.
