Ball valve vs Syphon

About to order a 50L S/S pot and i'm trying to decide weather or not to get the 3 piece ball valve or to just leave the pot completely clear and use my auto syphon ?

Do I need the valve ? it just seems like more cleaning along with a required filter, where as with the syphon I'm worried about it blocking and such things ?

Any wise thought ?

I would go with the ball valve instead of messing with a syphon.What is it your planning on doing? Single pot boil in a bag?
