Not homebrew, but I've just seen this. Can you really get yeats that'll brew up to 32%, I thought that was in the realms of distillation.

There is another thread about this somewhere.

I was also speaking to a Belgian friend the other day about beers and he informed me that both Duvel and La Chouffe have produced batches of congac type stuff from their beers.
Apparently in both cases they were produced to 'rescue' batches that had gone wrong.

It's an ice beer. They took a 10% RIS and then kept freezing it until enough water was removed as ice to boost the ABV to 32% (the water freezes leaving the alcohol behind). My understanding is that this is legally viewed as similar to distillation so illegal at home.
