Hey guys! I've just found a galvanised steel bucket from homebase for £6.99 and i was wondering if i could use this instead of a brewing pot to intially boil the hops and malt extract in? it sounds a little daft but it would save me money! heres the link for the bucket, would this withstand boiling on the gas stove would reckon? http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wc...ategory_root|Furniture+and+Homewares|16849245

Any advice grteatly appreciated!

thanks for the advice, was not sure if galvanised was a good idea or not - glad i checked! can anyone recommend a cheap place to get a brew pot from? everywhere i've seen them have been 20 quid and up.

Would it be easier/any better to forget the boiling pot idea and just go with converting a fermenting bin into a boiler? my dad is rather handy so he offered to do so, im just in the dark about how exactly to go about building a plastic boiler?
