Cheap wine.

Call me old fashioned or not but I have just watched an enjoyably insane hippy on YouTube creating wine using a 5ltr plastic water bottle with just fruit juice, sugar and yeast, absolutely nothing else apart from a balloon with a hole in it, used as a pressure release. Surely this is hit and miss, or is it the way to go ?? it's definitely money saving

You can make wine from almost any juice (avoid ones with preservative) but if you want something that mimics wine, tastes nice and is cheap to make try this it doesn't get much easier or cheaper -

A warm welcome to the forum. As to your insane hippy - really quite sane. it might taste ok it might not... but yes sugar + water + yeast = C2H5OH. Been the case for thousands of years really. We just like to make it super complicated these days
