Dme shelf life.

Hi everyone
I have been given a 3kg bag of extra pale dme which is 2 years past its best before
date. It has not been opened and has no clumps or lumps. Having made the jump straight from kits to ag I have no experience of extract brewing so my questions are.
Is it too far out of date to use?
As it is extra pale can I use it for bitter? I'm not bothered about colour just flavour.

I would use it. If there's some degradation, it will be very little.
Haven't made a bitter so can't answer that part.

It says best before not use by so if it's not a solid lump then use it. I had an opened pack which had gone hard so I dumped it only because I couldn't be bothered to try and dissolve it.
