Dropping the temp

For a 10L batch, you can chill in an ice water bath in the sink while stirring the wort. (I use a candy thermometer with a long probe so I know the temp during cooling). It will speed up the process and wont use too much water. The big risk of contamination would be around 35-42C.

I've never tried no chill, but from my understanding, it's a popular technique in Australia where limiting water use is essential.
