Okay, so I've done a cock up!!
Made some wine without checking for preservatives.... So, its all in the DJ, grape juice, cherry concentrate, tannin, pectolase, yeast & nutrient and bugger all has happened for 18 hours, so I checked & the bloody cherry stuff has preservative in it. Can I boil up the lot & re add the yeast & nutrient or is it going down the plug hole?

I would give it more time, take a hydrometer reading over a couple of days to see if its fermenting.

I tried a Ribena wine when i first started, i boiled it as instructed, it took weeks to get down to 1020, i gave up in the end and poured it down the sink, i don't believe boiling gets rid of it all the preservative but i guess there is no harm in trying.

It's colder in our houses so that combined with the preservatives may make it ferment really slowly, you will have to give it time and probably a long time or bin it and put it down to a lesson learned the hard way.

Well, good news!! I have fermentation!!!! Its on my bucket heater pad so its about 25 degrees. nothing for 4 days but now there is some froth on the surface & a few bubbles in the trap :-)
