Managed to get a pint of First Cut at the Rotherham Real Ale & Music Festival last night, it was quite a surprise as had not noticed in the list of beers on website beforehand (is there, i just missed it).

Well done Jon

Another bonus was I managed to get the other half to drink some ale at last. She normally only drinks continental lagers and cider but got her drinking a few Blonde ales last night.

Will be back Saturday night, hopefully be some left this year by then.

Thanks Phil. Much appreciated. I still cack myself everytime I send my beer out into the real world.

Encouragingly, First Cut was the best-selling beer at a Meet The Brewer night I held at the Station Hotel in Northallerton on Thursday.

First Cut is still very much a rough draft at the minute...I think it still needs a bit of tweeking before it settles down to be the final version. This one used Centennial as the aroma hop...and it worked okay, the last version of this used Cascade at 5 mins, but I will experiment with a couple more hops just to be sure.

Making a Cascade/Willamette 4.1% abv, 33 EBU, 16 EBC bitter tomorrow. Going to call it "Junction 51"...as my brewery is just off junction 51 of the A1(M).

Thanks again for the kind words.
Take care
Jon
