Hi all

I'm getting towards planning my first 3 AG brews for about 15 years, they will be two Theakstone's best bitters and a Sam Smiths, Clones from the original Graham Wheeler "Brew Your Own Real Ale At Home". I believe he has changed the recipe in the later editions.

However the company I want to order from doesn't have ordinary Goldings, I wonder about either East Kent Goldings or Challenger. If any one has an alternative hop bill to the original Graham Wheeler one of

Target 13g
Fuggles 33g
Start of boil
Goldings 15g last 15 mins

I Would be grateful for ideas,

Similarly the Sam Smiths clone has 15 g of Goldings at the end and I would prefer to use the same hops in each, at the end of the boil.

Thanks All

East Kent Goldings are Goldings, grown in East Kent. They are regarded as the best Goldings.

I reckon First Gold are a good hop to grow in this country - great hop, dwarf variety. Often sold as Prima Donna I believe, when sold as a hop plant.
