All you need is a litre of either red grape juice or white grape juice and a litre of another juice, make sure the juice does not contain preservatives as they kill the yeast.

If you like white wine you could try a litre of white grape juice and a litre of apple juice, if you like Rose wine try a litre of red grape juice and a litre of apple juice, other popular versions use pomegranate, cranberry, blueberry or grapefruit as the second juice.

A basic recipe would be -

800g sugar.

1 litre red grape juice

1 litre apple juice

1 teaspoon Pectolace

1 teaspoon yeast nutrient.

1 teaspoon wine yeast

1 teaspoon glycerene

1 teaspoon powdered tannin or a mug of black tea (see below).

If you cannot get hold of powdered tannin make a mug of black tea using 4 tea bags (not flavoured bags) stir it every minute as you prepare the rest of the wine so it ends up very strong.

You need to sterilise everything that comes into contact with the wine, you can get steriliser in tubs from the home brew shop, you can also use miltons steriliser which you can get in tablet or liquid form.

Here are two videos that show you the ingredients and method, this is the original wurzels orange wine but as i said earlier you can change the orange and make your own version.
