I got all my home brew equipment out of the loft about 3 months ago......it had been up there 20 years
First thing I did was tip the hydrometer out of its plastic tube.....straight onto the concrete floor
Went out and bought 2 !!!
I have my original hydrometer from when I started brewing in the early 80's . . . . I have broken several of my precision (Read Expensive) hydrometers though . . . I should have an account with Stevenson Reeves
Although I have managed to drop a couple of hydrometers, its thermometers I tend to get through. I have managed to break 2 glass and ruin 3 digital in the last couple of years. To think the someone on here was spreading a malicious rumour that this hobby saves you money.
I have now got another new digital one for this weekends brew.
I daren't say a word, cos if I do I will go and break my hydrometer and my thermometer next brew
Already broken my glass U-tube which I cant seem to replace except with plastic!
