Hi folks

I just joined the forum today and a big thanks to you guys for helping out newbies just like me. Makes some interesting reading.

My Wife bought me a kit from Aldis for Christmas and I have just put it in the FV (Scottish Heavy) I forgot to take an OG, would this matter, I have read other replies saying yes and no. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My hydrometer broke 10 kits ago and never used one since so would not worry? I leave my kits in the FV for 2+ weeks which I have always found to be long enough to finish them off.

I can stop worrying now about not taking an OG. Now to google some good supply shops, pity the one in Kirkcaldy closed a wee while back as it is right on my doorstep.
