Hi all as a novice im on my 3rd brew kit.
What and how is the best way to raise the ABV of my brews.
I personally like a strong beer over 7%
Cheers Andy

Ordinary sugar (sucrose) will raise the ABV, but it will make for a “thinner” pint.

I recommend extra dry malt extract (dextrose) which will not only raise the ABV but retain the taste.

However, think on a bit! Higher ABV usually means a longer time conditioning and you could use that time getting another brew on!!

Less water is an other option. The advantages are that you'll keep the ratio of hops to malt the same and also will not require extra yeast or other ingredients.
