I've got the ingredience for some lovely strawberry cider but I wanted to work out how much sugar to add to get the % I'm looking for.
Anoingly it doesnt say exactly how much sugar is in the Ribena! Only once diluted
Am I right in thinking... 10.9g per 100ml @ 1part ribena to 4 parts water, so undiluted = 10.9g per 20ml (1/5th)???
Which by my calcs is 545g/L (1000ml/20ml=50x10.9g)

The apple juice is 10.4g/100ml so 104g/L

I've only got a gallon d/j to ferment in so do I add all the ribena or slightly less, I'm going on 4.5L so 3.5L Apple & 1L Ribena?
Working on that... Ribena= 545g + Apple= 364g. Total sugar=909g/4.5L=202g/L ???
That sounds an awful lot as it's coming out around 12% without adding any more sugar.

I agree, Ribena is quite annoying because it only quotes sugars per serving after it has been diluted 1:4 with water.

I find the “per 250ml serving” figure to be more useful, that's 50ml of cordial + 200ml of water. In the strawberry that's 27.3g x 20 servings per litre = 546g, which matches what you got.

I would suggest 4L apple juice + 500ml Ribena = 416 + 273 = 689g sugar = 153g/litre = 1.055 OG, so still around 8% abv.
