I ran into a homebrew friend the other day at the Post Office.

He told me he and his son have been watching Three Stooges videos. He said they came across a homebrewing episode which he had never seen.

I never heard of it either so I took it upon myself to find that episode. Well, I looked around online and eventually came across it. The episode in question is called Beer Barrel Polecats.

This episode has been broken into two parts on YouTube.

The first part, the homebrew one, is at the following URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHQM4bkRgl0&feature=related.

Note that there are other versions on YouTube that have been chopped to hell. The above version is the most complete one I've come across.

The second part of Beer Barrel Polecats is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZRjy1cFdbE.

In my search for this episode I learned a bit of its history. This was the first short filmed after Curly had a series minor strokes. Apparently he tired quickly so the director decided to cut down on the amount of new footage actually filmed. He did this by recycling material from previous films (i.e. In the Sweet Pie and Pie and So Long Mr. Chumps).

The second segment of this episode seems somewhat disjoint and confusing due to the creative editing. You'll notice the recycled footage features a heavier and healthier Curly.

Both parts of this episode are worth watching especially if you are a Stooges fan,

Enjoy!!

I never quite got into the Three Stooges - not sure why - think they're in the same cringe-vein as Mr Bean.....
