IAnybody used finnings when making beer? I was going to but read somewhere that they kill the yeast meaning there wouldn't be any carbonation in the beer. Any advice or should I not bother using them? I was going to put youngs finnings in my primary fermenter when fermentation has stoped then leave for a furher few days to do its thing then bottle from primary. I never use secondary as this takes place in bottles anyway
 
I have never fined my beer and there should be no need to, however gelatine is supposed to be a good fining agent for beer.
 
Finings don't kill the yeast, they just cause it to floc together. If you rack off after fining then they'll be less yeast available to carbonate the beer. It will carbonate eventually but you can reseed the bottle with fresh yeast to speed up the process. Just a couple of grains of dried yeast will do it.
