Hi
Have been using wine sweetener bought from shop but
have read that you can use water/sugar 2 to 1 as a sweetener
as a cheaper alternative,what i want to know is how long
will it keep in sealed container IE bottle with a screw top?
also is it inferior quality.

You can also sweeten with grape juice or any juice drink containing sugar but only after you have stabilised the wine of it will start to ferment again.

I don't really see the need for a water/sugar 2 to 1 mix, i just put a couple of teaspoons into each 1.5 litre bottle just before drinking it and gave it a good shake, that did the trick for me.
 
I thought "secondary fermentation" and "deactivated the yeast" might sound a bit confusing to someone with 6 posts.
