I have had a 100gr tub of youngs yeast given to me, it is well in date just wondered if anyone has used it. if so is it any good, it says one level teaspoon per gallon which seems a lot to me

I've used this stuff:
I don't know if its the same as in the tub, possibly not. My experience is that attenuation s relatively low, abot the same as Windsor, I'd say. Apart from that, it;s decent enough. Check out the website.

Well i did a brew with this stuff just to see if it's any good, i used 15grams in 20L it has now stopped so i took a reading and it went from 1052 and is now at 1010 so 5.25% in 6 days, tastes alright no off flavours and it is starting to clear, i will keg it tomorrow and report back
