Yeah I was gutted to miss it but the wife's been struggling a bit with her pregnancy so couldn't stay away the weekend.
I'll be popping into see everyone on the 9th though. However with a 5 day old baby I won't be stopli for too long.

Not been on for a while as been manic busy. I'd originally planned to enter at Porter (Which I made in Feb) and a Pale. Never got round to making the Pale so just entered the Porter.
My first comp so a little apprehensive but actually really happy with the score and the feedback.

So my first brewday this year was 26th Jan. I brewed a Porter loosely based on the Yeastie Boys' Pot Kettle Black and have named it "Jackdaw Porter".

I am planning a Lemon Drop SMaSH as I have 100g that I wish to use and see how they impart flavour/aroma. Going to go for a hugely hoppy IPA strength so hopefully will be a good example. Likely to brew Thursday/Friday.
I brewed for the first time in no the today. Making a porter for the first time too so was good fun.
I based the recipe on Yeastie Boys Pot Kettle Black (or the recipe I could find for it anyway) and swapped about the hops and malts a little.
Very smooth brewday..even finished in time to chill...
