I bottled two batches of wilko's hoppy copper a couple of weeks ago & forgot to leave them somewhere warm for the secondary fermentation & just boxed them & put them straight in the shed. will these clear & carbonate over time? Could I bring them inside now to try & get it to finish? Many...

    school boy error

I made a Coopers English bitter today & put in 1KG of dextrose rather than 500g of spray malt. ( Basically I didn't read the instructions & assumed it was the same as my normal kits) The OG was 1090....should I just throw it away?

    wine not fermenting

Hi it says to add 3.5kg of brewing sugar then sprinkle the yeast & yeast nutrient sachets on to the wine, stir & leave to ferment. This should take up to 7 days. This is to make 30 bottles of spicy cabernet sauvignon (wilkos). Can I just add more yeast? is the dextrose not working? can it be...

    How clean is clean?

Thanks for replying.....not seen a bottle washer, I'm guessing these are rather expensive?. I am starting to dread tasting my 1st batch now, as I feel I may have rushed the rinsing out part & will now have a chlorine tang to my beer! oh well.....live & learn!:-|

    How clean is clean?

Thanks guys, I used the little tub of VWP let the bottles soak for about 10 minutes then rinsed them (as well as one can without losing the will to live). Think I might try the starsan as I have seen a few youtube vids of people using this & they all seem to rave about it. Thanks again! fil

    Hello everyone!!

Hi Guys, I am very new to this, so know pretty much the absolute basics! I have just finished my second brew (1st being Coopers Dark ale, 2nd Wilkos Newkie Brown) I haven't tasted them as one is fermenting the other needs a few weeks in the shed. In the 2 weeks I have been doing this I have...
